Creating a microschool comes with different challenges across different contexts. California’s policies and public funding have not supported microschool founders to the extent that other states have. But that didn’t stop Lizette Valles from founding Ellemercito Academy, a microschool in the Los Angeles area. In my recent conversation with her on my podcast, she shared how she has created personalized learning environments in her school and how she is supporting families and founders statewide as the California Field Coordinator for the National Microschooling Center.
