Avoiding teacher burnout

By Heather Clayton Staker

It’s possible to improve teaching and learning without further burdening teachers. That’s vital news, because the last thing teachers need is a district initiative that places unreasonable demands on their scarce time.

For today’s Tuesday Share, I’m posting an interview with Michael B. Horn, who explains Thomas Arnett’s, Bob Moesta’s, and his research from the Christensen Institute on how school leaders can motivate instructional innovation in a way that makes teachers’ jobs easier, rather than in a way that’s coercive or at odds with teachers’ own priorities.
