By Fall, Every Child Should Have An Individualized Learning Plan

As schools turn the page on this school year and plan for the fall, personalizing for each child will be critical.

Estimates of students’ unfinished learning vary, but most suggest that for many students, there’s a lot of ground to cover.

I agree. As a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant, I have seen more than enough students who have IEPs that are not geared towards the students learning style. The problem is that no one has the time to give every student what’s needed when all year long more and more students are given IEPs . I seemed like I could never catch up with my work and always felt like I was’nt helping my students enough. I had to make a change and exit out as an employee with the school district. I just could not sit back and watch our children be forced to fail by politics and a world wide pandemic.

I saw kids struggling, those in General Education and Special Education. Due to that, pulling at my heart strings something tough, I decided to start my own tutoring business. Students need more one on one study time for general classes and passing core curriculum skill sets. So thank you for this article. Its confirmation that I’m on the right path and my students this time around will get all my attention without feeling rushed.
